We are on fire tonight gang! I don’t think anyone is safe!

Don’t forget, feedback@whiteroofradio.com OR leave a comment below OR leave us a message at (206) 33-WHITE

Before we talk about MINIs, we do talk about lots of other things including the Thinking and Driving Podcast, who found us because YOUR votes at Podcast Alley, and spending some time over at the Cooperspeed forums. Oh yea, Gabe now knows the plural of y’all and throws down a couple of really good rants.

We did manage to FINALLY get to talking about MINIs and covered news of the week from Motoringfile.com

An experiment

Another show possibility for you to check out and/or db is a glutton for punishment.

A little music for you on this Sunday. It’s not even in the feed, so congrats on finding this.

This being a Sunday Morning show, I went with that kind of vibe and picked the following songs:

You can find all of these plus more (free) music over at 15megsofframe.com.

Of course, like I mentioned, this is completely experimental. Like it? Hate it? Want more? Leave a comment below or email db@whiteroofradio.com

Heck, who knows, I might just put this in the feed next time….

We spend almost an hour asking Randy questions and can you believe he answered them?

Questions answered:

Gabe asks… Which is better; Schroth harness or G-Lock seat belt tensioner? Any benefit to upgrading to an aftermarket seat? Brings up why a 15% pulley is more reliable than a 19%.

Todd asks… What kind of numbers will he pull on the dyno?

db asks… What will the required safety equipment for racing cost? What beer is in the ‘fridge in the shop?

Randy, as always, answers our questions, even after spending all day driving to Chicago! And, as always, he gives us the best answers to our questions and puts up with our shenanigans! But, for a change, no dictionary was needed this time around ;)

Don’t forget to go over to this NAM thread to help Randy keep racing!

Questions, comments or concerns? You know what to do. But just in case… Email us feedback@whiteroofradio.com OR comment below OR voicemail to (206) 33-WHITE

Thanks for waiting for the zip file and full show notes. If you want to hear even more of Randy, you can check out Woof32, Woof33 and Woof9.

Last minute we get Randy Webb before doing the pulley party at the Motoringfile Garage. We talk about Randy’s involvement with the MINI Racing Series and plans for the rest of the season. Want to help keep Randy racing? Check this NAM thread for information about you can help sponsor! Doesn’t have to be a huge donation, small amounts work too. Heck, Todd did $50, anyone going to match? Better hurry before I beat you to it.

And Congrats to SCMM members Brad and Karin. By the time you are reading this they have tied the knot! Good luck you two!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for part II of the interview. I think we even go pretty long, for those of you that like that sort of thing ;) .

See what happens?

Sent in by listener Matt (CmdrVimes):

I’ve compressed down a small clip from the run Jason from CooperSport.ca ran with my video setup. It’s an 18 second clip of a biker that didn’t have the best of day (he dumped his bike at a very low speed into the trees).

This is what happens when you don’t mind the dragon.

Download.

If anyone else has any video they would like to share and it’s reasonably sized, feel free to let me know and I’d be glad to post it!

Thanks for the clip Matt!

Before Gabe goes on and on and on about the Dragon, Todd gives us a quick GP update. You can look forward to hearing these for about the next 12 weeks.

But the meat of the matter is Gabe giving us his recap of MINIs on the Dragon. After hearing this there is something seriously wrong if you are not chomping at the bit to go next year! I know I am. Catered lunch from M7 (Gabe proclaimed the best tent in fact), the road itself plus all of the activities and people, not to mention all the fried food! Yea, I’m there!

But why was db complaining about gas? Sheesh, what a buttinsky!

Don’t forget to check out the MiniCarParts.net contest. Enter to win your chance at $1500 worth of parts and accessories for your MINI!

Gabe’s back from the Dragon! Schooling us (again?) on the world famous 3-Series 50/50 weight distribution and he is itchin’ to talk about his experience last week. Oh, sorry, come back tomorrow. If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the Motoringfile Flickr Group.

We discuss the c|net review of the ‘06 MCS (check the bad…too funny) and db has issues with the weave of the carpet? We also decided that a show about small cars probably would be a bad idea. We’ll stick to MINI’s. Plus listener feedback and news of the week.

And we play clips of some of the song entries. You still have time to get those in! Contest closes June 1st, with lots of cool prizes…

  • 1st – Outmotoring arm rest
  • 2nd – $50 Outmotoring Gift Certificate
  • 3rd – Valve stem covers and a hat

All prize courtesy Outmotoring.

Another Mini podcast to check out too. Starlords MINI Podcast. Mostly video, but it’s pretty cool. Worth the download for sure!

All prize courtesy Outmotoring.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you…

We recently received a message from one reader who claimed that placing a magnetic badge on his vinyl stripe caused some scratching and other minor damage. Going forward, our official stance on this matter follows:

toddsmods.com/Motoringfile.com magnetic grille badges are specifically produced and recommended for use with official MINI grille badge holders only and are not warranted, expressly or implicitly, for application on any other automotive surface, including but not limited to exterior paint or applied graphics vinyl or otherwise.

MINI Badges Done Right!

OK, call me crazy, but I just want to show off Todd’s badges.

I’m not convinced the paint will be damaged (as my LY/B MINI had large magnetic meatball numbers on each door), but the look you see here may not stay. After all, who wants to peel off the badges before each car wash?

But those badges sure are standout. (My official badge holder came into stock today. They’re somewhat of a rarity in Canada).

And that’s me, robertintoronto@gmail.com, with my Flame Spoke Wheels. Not Horseshoe. Flame Spoke, also apparently making an appearance on the Canadian Limited Edition MINI, whatever that is!).

(Oh, and guys: Shania’s from Timmins, Ontario).

db and Todd motor on without Gabe tonight, with Michael Babiskin filling in. So, we take advantage and question the quality of Gabe’s beer and cigars. Plus, we take ours from Robert, but give a little back. And we catch up on listener comments. You can check out the Mini Fini stuff here.

Todd did the hard part (don’t worry, db is still practicing)

If you haven’t already, you should take a few minutes to click over to MINICarParts.net and give the contest a go. C’mon, who doesn’t want $1500 worth of MINI stuff?

And, you’d better hurry over to Detailing Concepts and get your MINI Zymol kit before they are gone!

6.gif Number 7 6? Wow! I’d like to take this time to thank the academy for recognizing our efforts and especially thank you, the WRR listeners for downloading, voting on Podcast Alley and leaving comments for others that happen across our show! You are the greatest.

Done? I’m pretty sure we all agreed that the top spot would be best, no? Keep it up gang! We’ve got tons of bandwidth left.

I wasn’t terribly impressed with the last player, so I just installed a new one as a test.
