Woofcast #304

Coupe, Coopster, Concept or whatever you want to call, we spend a bit more talking about it tonight, along with a few of the other stories from MotoringFile, including more on the diesel MINI possibility coming to the US in the form of the R60.

If you missed our take on the new concept last week, you can find it here or in iTunes. Great insight from Todd and Gabe especially, worth the listen.

Finishing off with Todd at the Balduchi Winery, including getting a chance to talk to a guy that drove his MINI from St. Louis to Alaska! Watch for WRR at more events in the future as well, including a very very strong possibility of us going to the Dragon in ‘10!

You might have heard about Jack Belcher already in the SCMM Newsletter I posted earlier in the week. If you want to see the photos, I posted them over at dbmini.us last week. Listen past the end of the show for a short interview with did with him during one of the AMVIVs.

All of the other links mentioned during the show can be found over there on the right, including a link to the Official MINI YouTube Channel. Thanks to Dean from Indiana for calling into the Voicemail line at 206.202.3252. Keep those calls coming gang, especially if you want us to answer your question in the next Ask Chad segment!

Finally, go buy a badge, especially the 300 to 300k Badge. If y’all buy enough of them, if we do cover the Dragon next year, I would really like to try to drive in my MINI!

Extra Extra, Read all about it!

To help celebrate 4 years of the Woofcast, SCMM, one of the largest MINI Cooper Clubs in the nation, has published an article about us in their latest newsletter.

If you are in Southern California, this is the only club to join. Great events, great people and always a good time. I should know, I’m member number one!

Check it out, on page 3, here (pdf download)

You have been hearing us talk about this video for a few weeks now. Ok, beating Micheal and Chad up about this video might be more like it.

Woofcast #303

I’m not sure about you out there in the listening audience, but I think we’ve been stringing together some great shows lately, this one is no exception.

Of course we do news from MotoringFile. Some great discussions about the upcoming coupe and R60 and just MINI stuff in general.

Tonight is also the world premier of our brand new segment called Ask Chad. That’s right, our own Chad Miller from Detroit Tuned is now taking questions about modding, repairs or anything else you can think of, and answering them during the show. We start with three great questions tonight, followed by 3 great answers. One of the answers included the Sprint Booster. You can find more information about it here.

We also decided to barge in on our sister station over at the Bimmercast. Gabe and Michael talked MINIs and F1 with us for a few minutes before we caught the internet on fire. If you missed it, the Bimmercast has a new iTunes link. Subscribe here.

Also new this week are brand new designs at Motoringbadges.com including the 300 to 300k badges we talked about and all the hot new badges for the ladies!

Finally, want Chad to answer your question? Send it over to askchad@whiteroofradio.com or phone it in the voicemail line.

MINI_Cash_For_Clunkers

Tune in for this episode as we pick on Michael for getting a VW, but then apologize before we, again, pick on him for getting a VW. Plus news of the week from MotoringFile.com. Then, we pick on Micheal some more about getting a VW. Good times ahead as it looks like he’ll be without MINI for a while. Be gentle on him.

If you are here reading these words, follow some of the links on the right to follow along with WRR, Todd, Gabe, Michael and myself anyway you can imagine. Also, if you click that big iTunes link at the top of the page, that is the best way to get the show, delivered to your desktop automatically when it’s released.

Tune in to episode 303 for the first edition of Ask Chad. If you want to send questions in to Chad Miller of Detroit Tuned fame, you can by emailing them to askchad(at)whiteroofradio.com. We plan to do this at least twice a month, depending on how many questions the Chadmeister gets.

MINIs in the Mountains

mitm

Everyone is home or on their way from the 4th running of MINIs in the Mountains. As you already know, Todd got to go, debut some new badges and talk to some of the vendors and participants that were there too.

More to come, including Todd’s complete wrap-up, during Woofcast 302 that we will be recording later this week.

Poll: A MINI Vacation in Vegas

amviv6shbackFor those of you that aren’t subscribed to the AMVIV Mailing List, this is the latest update from Agro concerning feedback for the next AMVIV

It’s been a while since you heard from me, but it’s about the time that we start seriously planning AMVIV for next year. The Sin City MINI Club has a new President this year (welcome and congratulations to Mark Finn) and we are contemplating a few changes to mix things up a little and keep the event fresh for those of you who have been here several times.

I have put together a survey on SurveyMonkey.com. The results are aggregated and not identifiable as having come from a particular person or even location, so please feel free to be honest.

As you can imagine, response to the survey was huge. So huge in fact that it filled up the database of the first survey. Not to worry, you can still give your feedback. You don’t have to sign up, provide your email address or anything. Follow the links below to help out.

If your last name starts with the letters:

Like I said, it only takes a few minutes and your feedback will greatly assist the AMVIV Planning Committee in creating the next AMVIV! Making it better than it was. Better. Stonger. Faster.

New Feature: Ask Chad

detroit_tuned

That’s right, WRR is starting something new! After spending sometime with Chad Miller from Detroit Tuned during Woofcast 301, we thought it would be fun if we could get you, the WRR listener, to send in questions that Chad could answer. As it turns out, you think it’s a good idea too, based on the great feedback we’ve received this week!

Here’s the dealio. If you have a question about modifying, repairing or maintaining your MINI, shoot that over to askchad@whiteroofradio.com or call the WRR voicemail line at (206) 202-3252. When we get enough questions, we’ll get Chad back on the show to get those questions answered.

To start with we are shooting for twice a month. But, if we get enough questions, we might do it weekly!

More from MitM

Todd, being the rockstar that he is, had a bit of a contest yesterday at MINIs in the Mountains.

Jim Peterson’s trailer is parked next to our booth space and it doubles as a signal to passing planes (read – it reflects the sun like nobody’s business.) Anyway, I announced the first person to be photographed shirtless, tanning themselves in the reflections of said teardrop mini trailer would get a free Motoring Badge. Our man C.r. Fitch IV, big WRR fan, jumped to the challenge immediately.

Good times right there!

From what I can tell, looks like everyone is having a great time! If you are one of them, give the WRR voicemail line a ring to tell us all about it!

Todd + MINI Event =

MINIs in the Mountains are in full swing and so far it looks like everyone is having a great time.

Including our man Todd.

Todd

So far, Facebook has been the place to keep track of what’s going on up in Colorado this weekend.

GREAT feedback for adding an “Ask Chad” segment to WRR and we are all excited about it. Watch next week for full details!

Woofcast #301

Starting our 4th year with Woofcast 301, joined by a couple of guys that you might know. Agro, grand poobah of AMVIV and Chad Miller from Detroit Tuned help us out with news from Motoringfile, Bimmerfile and other places. A quick note to the affliates, we do go long in this episode.

After news, Chad lays down some tips to help keep your MINI running well and performing some of your own DIY installs like brakes. This brought up the idea for a possible new segment on the show called Ask Chad, where he answers your questions. What say you? Leave a comment below.

Finishing off with some event talk, including an update to AMVIV 7. If you want to get on the mailing list, you can do that here. Get on the list and be the first to know about what’s going on with AMVIV.

If you are going to MINIs in the Mountains, be sure to stop by and say hi to Todd. He will have the new badges plus a few new designs that you are sure to like. Watch for those to show up on Motoringbadges.com very soon.

And, for those that might have missed it, there is a new MINI Community on the internet. It’s called Motoring Alliance and it’s where all the cool kids are hanging out these days. Check it out.

Happy Birthday to Us

A Cakes?

That’s right boys and girls. Today marks the 4th anniversary of White Roof Radio! And in that time we’ve done some pretty cool stuff like.

  • Covered AMVIV more than a few times
  • Covered MTTS. Twice
  • Covered MINI United. Twice
  • Drove from Miami to Boston with 3 people in a MINI
  • Drove on 2 World Class F1 Circuits
  • Met almost all of you at some point
  • Covered almost every major MINI Event in the United States
  • Interviewed everyone that is anyone in the MINI Community

For those of you that have stuck with us this long. Thanks! For those of you that might be new to WRR, take a few minutes and cruise through the Archives. There is some great stuff there.

What’s next? How about Todd at MItM this coming weekend? Ok, we can do that. How about WRR at the Dragon next year? We are actually seriously working on that as I type as well (still depends on the timing of MTTS). Plus anything else we can think of, and somethings that others have thought up for us. Check out Woof301 next week for one such thing.

It’s been fun! And, as long as you keep listening, we’ll keep making shows!
