New update from Andrew ‘Agro’ Ross about AMVIV7, happening March 25th – 28th, 2010. In case you missed it, we actually talked to Agro during Woof 308 so you can go back and listen if you haven’t already.
Hi everyone. It’s been a while I know, but I finally have some AMVIV news for you.
We have signed a hotel contract! We’re moving away from Palace Station this year, to another property in the Station Casinos family. We’re going to Aliante Station which is a brand new, absolutely beautiful hotel casino. The hotel part is a bit smaller than Palace, and we will have the entire hotel blocked out for our attendees. Yes, if you see someone in the hotel elevator, they will be another AMVIV attendee.

It’s the Todd and Gabe show! Some talk about the upcoming LeMons race, some more Speedster talk, more on the dreaded oil pan gasket leaks plus an AMVIV update with Andrew ‘Agro’ Ross. Full text of the update to follow very very soon, but you will want to book your room soon!
If you are an owner of an ’03 – ’06 MINI Cooper S (R53), be sure to take some time this week to check your oil! It’s simple and only takes a minute or two next time you are fueling up. Not fueling this week? Then do it when you get home from work in the driveway. Just make sure the engine is warm when you check it. Making sure you have enough oil in your crankcase will save you from an engine failure! In case you missed it, I made up a handy video how-to to help you out.
As mentioned above, we talked with Agro about AMVIV. There was a new email that went out this week that will be going up first thing tomorrow morning. If you want to get subscribed to the list, you can do that here.
Thanks for listening gang! I was checking out iTunes Monday night and we were coming in at number 5 in the Automotive category! Keep listening and we’ll keep making shows. Don’t forget to spread the word to your friends!
Also, since I missed this show, we are running the photo contest until next Monday, October 5th. All you have to do is post a photo of your MINI at the WRR Facebook Fan Page to get a chance to win a Motoringbadge of your choice!

Right after MINIs in the Mountains, I get a call from our man Todd. He got an idea. Phone calls and emails ensue and a plan is formed. A plan to keep my MINI up and running to 300k miles and, hopefully beyond!
To celebrate the 300th episode of White Roof Radio and to get my MINI back into the proper shape an official mascot should be in, Motoringbadges.com has issues a new, commerative badge (see above).
For $10 you will get the 300 – 300K badge and the WRR Supporter decal! And, 100% of the proceeds (after costs, taxes, fees and Todd’s Bourbon of the Month membership) will go directly into parts and service to keep this MINI:

Running the way a MINI should, especially one that is the mascot for the World Famous White Roof Radio!
If you don’t want a badge, but still would like to help out, just click the button below. Any amount, any time.
A short PSA from your pals at White Roof Radio reminding, and showing you, how to check the oil in your MINI.
Next time you are fueling up is a great time to do it. Takes just a minute and doing this can actually save your engine!
Ask Chad and a whole lot more! We start with news from MotoringFile, which was primarily Coopster and Speedster talk. If you want to see some great photos from the Frankfurt IAA, go over and check out Micheal Talley’s Flickr stream. Some fantastic photos of cars, and not just the MINIs. If you missed it before, we actually spoke with him about the Speedster live from Frankfurt. Check it out.
After that, we roll into another episode of Ask Chad with our man Chad Miller from Detroit Tuned, . Sadly, neither Todd or I snorted. I know you are disappointed. If you have a question for Chad that you would like to have answered on the show, send an email over to askchad@whiteroofradio.com or call the voicemail line at (206) 202.3252.
If you would like to help support White Roof Radio by adding to the Project: Roxy fund you can and it’s simple. Click over to Motoringbadges.com and order up one of those fancy 300 to 300k badges. You will also get the very cool, very limited, WRR Supporter decal too! Remember, all proceeds (after expenses and Todd’s Bourbon of the Month club membership) go directly to getting my MINI back in tip-top shape in hopes of driving her to MINIs on the Dragon in 2010!

Engine failures by water and lack of oil, plus a new contest for you today. Before doing anything, right now, go out and check your oil then come back and listen. We are getting reports of oil pan gaskets failing on R53s with just over 50k miles on them. Don’t let yourself be the guy in our story, check your oil now!
Are you on Facebook? Post a photo of your MINI to our Facebook Page and you can win a Motoringbadge. You have until the end of September, so no rush. We aren’t looking for anything in particular, just MINIs on our page. Winner will be picked at random.
After news from MotoringFile like we like to do, we talk engine failures and then move on to tires for the GP among other things. Classic WRR here gang. Just Gabe, Todd and I talkin’ about MINI stuff and mullets just like the good old days.
Stick around. Later today we have our first thoughts on the MINI Roadster Concept plus we talk to Michael Talley live from the Frankfurt show! You can some photos now with more to come!
And, because I told Gabe I would, go listen to the BimmerFile Podcast, especially if you are looking for lots of cool stuff about BMWs!

Full crew tonight. And by full crew I do mean all 5 of us, plus Michael from the Bimmercast. Most talking about the new Coupe since it capitalized the news at MotoringFile. We also discussed pricing (be prepared to be shocked) and the availability of Limited Slip. We do go pretty long in this episode.
Then into another edition of Ask Chad! Great questions that produced some great answers! If you are looking for the R56 Cooper intake (or R55 or R57 Cooper), click the image above to go straight to Detroit Tuned to put your name on the list.
We also have a brand new sponsor! MINI of Ontario isn’t even open yet and those lads are jumping right into the MINI Community like nobody’s business. They will be the newest MINI Dealership in California, located in Ontario, California. They are using the Twitter, and if you want to be kept up-to-date as construction happens and new MINIs start to arrive, follow them!
- @MINIBigDaddy – GM, Bill Smith
- @MINIParts – Parts Manager, Colin Benham
- @MINIService – Service Manager, Eric Hall
- @MINISales – Sales Manager, Joe Romero
- @MINIofOntario
Click the link above to go directly to the site to contact them or to follow their progress!
Finally, I’m looking for independant service centers that are MINI friendly. Leave a comment over there with your favorite shop including all the contact information and address. I’m hoping to get enough to build up a database at White Roof Radio that everyone would be able to use.
We do realize we have been putting up longer shows again. Would you rather the 1 long show or prefer we start to split it again when it goes long. Sound off in the comments!
