Todd recently found this short bit of audio left from last year’s MINI United.
Recorded during dinner at ‘15′, it’s Rauno talking about his experience during the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally, which he won, in a Mini Cooper S. If you are missed our original interview with Rauno during MINI United, you will find it here.
If you are going to be participating in MINI Takes the States, there is a chance you could ask him questions about this yourself as he will be attending the Miami and Boston Events, plus making a 5 day rally between the two events!
Keep an eye out here and at Motoringfile for more information about MTTS as it becomes available! We’ll have more information later this week.

Immediately after touring Plant Oxford last June, Todd and I where wisked into a very large room where we got to interview the Quality and Engineering Director for MINI. We got to ask some great questions, and he answered all of them! Everyone at Plant Oxford was very generous with their time while we were there and if you ever get the chance to get over there for a tour it is highly recommended.
A short week this week as I mentioned during #188. Don’t worry, we are going to make it up to you in the form of a live show this Thursday! Full details to follow soon.

In this latest MINI United interview we get an exclusive sit down with Dr. Kay Segler, MINI brand vice president. We talk MINI United. Motorsport, and the new MINI Challenge race car among other things. The latter will be the big take-away for many of you. Listen closely as Dr. Segler talks about the “new heart” of the MINI that will debut with the MINI Challenge car and that will eventually make it’s way to a new JCW product. All fascinating stuff for those of us who follow the brand.

He fills us in on what’s going on during the event including most of the live entertainment, the track schedule and beach activities! Plus, a few surprises. Of course he couldn’t let us know about those. They wouldn’t be much of surprise if he did.

Shawn Ticehurst from MINI took some time with us today to get us started with our MINI United 2007 coverage.
He fills us in on the history of the event, why it started and what we can expect for this year. We tried to get him to spill the beans on what the “special” event will be, but no dice. I would imagine that you could guess what we think it might be.

Todd and I get to spend some time talking to John and Jeff from Alta MINI Performance.
They will be at AMVIV in the parking lot next to the parking structure. Big truck and trailer with a lift built right in! You’ll be able to check out the new stuff they have for the R56 AND the R53. Yes, they are not going to forget about the R53 anytime soon. In fact, they are just release their v2.0 stuff for the R53.
We get the lowdown from them on how to increase performance on the R56, including what is going to be the new ‘pulley’ for the newest MINI. Some great information! Definitely worth the listen.

Or the “where the hell has Randy been show”.
WARNING…this episode wasn’t edited as much as others. There might be parts here that will make your fellow cube dwellers look over at you to see what you are looking at. No f bombs or anything, but when you start talking about the H2, things can get silly.
We turn Randy loose on the mic to fill us in on what he has been up to and squash some rumors. No, he hasn’t been fixing Hummers or running the shop at a go fast ranch.
He also revisits our weekend in St. Louis, when Todd let his car be transformed into the Mule v2.0 and throws out big thanks to EVERYONE that helped Randy finish the NAMCC season last year.
Watch for changes upcoming at Webb Motorsports. Like a brand new chatroom and new monthly podcast! And don’t forget the best way to get ahold of Randy is via email. That’s randy (at) webbmotorsports (dot) com. It’s also all over the site as well.

The last of the year, but db was late in getting in posted.
Robert gets a chance to drive a Smart. The grandfather of the lads owns one. 3 cylinder diesel, incredible mileage and quite peppy. Plus, it has the cutest little horn. Awwww.
This isn’t the car he drove, but it looked way cooler. Also to note is the lack of snow on the ground. Robert says:
Note the complete lack of snow in Toronto. It’s almost balmy outside. Methinks we’re going to pay for this come February!

The lad and I went to the LA Auto Show last weekend and we got to spend a little time hanging out with Tim and the gang and we talked MINIs! Specifically, the newest MINIs to come out of the Fireballed Garage, Oddjob and the Nexus Interceptor.
This weekend I will also have a bit of a soundseeing tour of the LA Auto show. Just the lad and I cruisin’ around, checkin’ out cars. Watch for it!
