Love the Woofcasts – another reason I can justify an iPod – Heard you talking about pre-spec cars at dealers – I wanted a 2006 MC with CVT and found the car in the color I wanted at MINI of Peabody (MA) silver over silver – nice car but when the Traveller comes out – it’s time to custom spec another MINI – love the car, and I’m a classic Mini owner also. (66 & 67 & 78) Great job guys!

Try lifting your heel up off the carpet and hitting the gas pedal with the outside of your foot(or heel if you have small feet) instead of rolling your foot like you described(foot should be like ).

That's exactly what I do. The problem is that my feet in almost all cars are too large to not touch the mat/carpet.

Also (for Gabe and others),

Try lifting your heel up off the carpet and hitting the gas pedal with the outside of your foot(or heel if you have small feet) instead of rolling your foot like you described(foot should be like ). With this method you can still keep full pressure on the brake while bliping the thottle on those down shifts. It feels VERY awkward at first, but I promise once you get used to it, it will be your prefered method of Heel/Toe while braking hard before a turn. It gives you much more confidence in the cars brakes as the majority of your foot is actually on the brake pedal instead of spread across nothingness.

Quick note,

Snap oversteer usually refers to the "snap" that happens when you over correct for existing oversteer, the rear wheels catch and the car swings back around the other way quickly. This for most is a bad thing if not planned.

Also, when trying to regain control during oversteer on a front drive car its better get ON the gas while counter steering. The front wheels bring the back end into alignment.

Thanks for the suggestion – I actually know Piloti’s quite well and have considered buying a pair for years. They’re great driving shoes but the problem is that I really don’t like the way they look.

Hey Gabe… check out Piloti driving shoes http://www.piloti.com. They’re not as narrow as other driving shoes out there (a factor you mentioned), have support & comfort like a tennis shoe and still have a smooth contour to the soul that allows for easy heal/toe driving with great pedal feel. Good prices, too!

BMWCCA membership is $40/year. there is NO discount on dealer MINI stuff for BMWCCA members though but they do offer discounts on my ’74 2002 parts i order through the dealer parts counter!

Roundel is definitely worth it too. several BMW fanatics own MINIs (including myself) and the MINI content is definitely coming along. whenever i organize a local BMWCCA driving event for our local BMWCCA chapter i always make sure MINI folks are invited and we usually drive our R50 along with the 2002.

Todd, Iâ€™ve been meaning to get some badges but never got around to it. I finally sat down and ordered some tonight so theres a few more dollars in the Xenon pot.

Y’all help Todd to get Xenons for his GP, but nobody is kickin’ down to help db’s Mac fund. Where’s the love (please note the winky guy above. Means I’m being sarcastic)

Gents -

I just want to say thank you for the information you shared on the show today. I posted one little comment on Motoringfile after Gabe's GP audio review, saying I didn't understand a few of the terms. Next thing I know, you guys are telling me exactly what I want to hear on WRR. It absolutely made my day, and I promise to practice my heel-toe driving faithfully, just to show my appreciation!
