The Out Take show.

Since we took Thanksgiving off, Todd put up about 12 minutes of the greatest out-takes, making sure to focus on my apparent inability to do the intro in 1 take!

Sorry for the delay gang!

Oh yea, if anyone is planning on going to the LA Auto Show this coming weekend, I’ll be there hanging out with Fireball Tim and his gang as they release the 2 new Fireballed! MINIs. Kenitia Hall, below the south hall. Come by, say hi. Say the secret word and I might give you a decal. Secret word to follow later in the week, so besure to check back!

News of the week from Motoringfile.com – Running time 42:10

News of the week, on the wrong day.

We spent quite a bit of time discussing all of the videos and commercials that have been popping up lately. On that note, would you like to see a contest, probably sponsored by Motoringfile, that asks you, the WRR listener and MF reader, to create MINI related content? Let us know in the show notes.

Don’t forget, if you are looking for something that any of the WRR sponsors sell, it would be greatly appreciated if you could follow the links on the right so they know you are coming from us. Or, better still, if you make a purchase, email them and let ’em know Whiteroofradio sent you!

Lasers, PS3 and the Zune. Oh yea, some MINI stuff. Running time 47:54

It’s backward week for us. Not really sure how it happened, but somehow we spent tonight not talking about the news.

Yes, the fires were that close to db. Big ups to the FD and Forestry guys for keeping the fires at bay! Todd is a Today Show watcher.

1 word: lasers. The way Gabe thinks Al Rocher lost all that weight.

Some good ranting about the Zune. I’m pretty sure we are all against it. No podcast support (when released), won’t work with WMP and if you have to buy ‘points’ to get music.

When we finally get around to MINI stuff…the tire swapping has begun. Winter is upon Gabe (and almost Todd) and the winter tires are coming out of storage. Todd is collecting wheels and Gabe has a single (!) Sumitomo tire in his garage. Yes, we believe it was the tire fairy or Gabe was going to build a tire swing. Todd tells us about jacking up the GP, and it’s pretty amazing. Really, lots of great show here tonight gang, worth checking it out.

Check back tomorrow for news. Of course, you should already be reading about it, as it happens, over at Motoringfile.

db mentioned Pacific Coast Hellway again. Some seriously funny stuff sometimes, definitely very NSFW. If you get around to it, I’d recommend listening to episode 348 for a serious rant about MS and Universal Music.

And, it’s that silly season. We HIGHLY recommend visiting any of the sponsors listed on the right for your MINI parts and accessory needs. And, if you would be so kind to follow the links here (so they know where you came from), we would greatly appreciate it.

Get WRR on MINI USA

From the MINI USA Owners Lounge:

So, we picked up our new baby complete with many JCW add-ons including the JCW leather/Alcantara steering wheel that we heard about on whiteroofradio podcast and read about on MotoringFile. MyMini added the finishing touches that truly made our Mini unique. We also got the iPod adapter in the car and the first thing we listened to was of course a whiteroofradio podcast followed by Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” they sounded great on the Harman Kardon stereo system.

Thanks Steve772! Keep it up gang!

We’re watching. If you mention WRR, at the very least you WILL get posted here!

If you haven’t shared your ‘Story’ for possible inclusion on MINIUSA.com, you can do that here. (Owners lounge login required).

Paying more than list for MINI items. Running time 29:30

A little history of the Woof and Gabe’s fascination with the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. If you haven’t, might I recommend a listen to Woofcast 21. It’s a classic! At the same time, death isn’t funny, unless it’s a Darwin award winner (or, possiby, shows up on YouTube).

As of this recording, Bill Jacobs MINI still has a GP and this week’s magic word is onus.

We then go about discussing paying more than MSRP for OEM parts and swag from you dealer. Really gang, there are a whole bunch of places where you can get these parts without paying mark-up. Check out the WRR Sponsors on the right for a few, as well as the Motoringfile Sponsor directory. Paying over is just silly, that’s all we are saying.
